Cut the VAT
Would you like to pay £150 less on every £1000 of home improvements that you make?
This could be made possible in this month’s budget, if the Chancellor decides to reduce the VAT from 20% to 5% for home improvements and maintenance. In this current economic climate this would make a real difference to home owners, by cutting the cost of any home improvement work. It could also benefit the whole country by helping many construction companies to recover, therefore creating new jobs and helping the economy to grow. It may also encourage more people to adopt new energy saving measures, thereby reducing their fuel bills in the long term.
The FMB is campaigning to get the VAT reduced so please sign their Cut the VAT petition now to show that you would like the VAT rate to be reduced for home improvements and maintenance.
